Stacey founded Change in 2014 with one simple aim: to build an accountancy practice that changes people’s perception of accountants.

She enjoys solving problems. Whether it’s software that isn’t behaving, accounts that don’t quite add up or helping a business plan its next stage of growth, Stacey loves getting to the root of an issue and finding practical solutions.

With more than 25 years’ experience, Stacey specialises in tax, business strategy and helping owner-managed businesses grow with confidence. You’ll usually meet her during new client discovery meetings, tax planning sessions or as part of our management accounts service.

Outside of the office, Stacey is a keen supporter of the York business community and regularly attends networking events, including hosting her own York networking event, First Thursday.

Ty has been part of Change almost from the very beginning, although he and Stacey have worked together for much longer. As Head of Accounts, he keeps us up to date with the latest accounting standards, Companies House changes and legislation, while making sure clients receive practical, straightforward advice.

A Chartered Certified Accountant and self-confessed technology enthusiast, Ty enjoys finding smarter ways of working and solving problems before they become headaches.

You’ll often meet Ty during new client discovery meetings, year-end tax planning sessions, management accounts reviews or whenever you need to talk through a business challenge.

If you’ve ever called Change, there’s a good chance you’ve already spoken to Tracy.

She keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, looks after new clients from day one and somehow knows exactly who you need to speak to before you’ve finished explaining your question. From onboarding to chasing records and sending the occasional gentle reminder, Tracy keeps everyone organised.

Think of her as our real-life chatbot - just friendlier and much more useful.

Emma joined the team following our acquisition of Sunley & Co and is the friendly face you’ll see when you visit the office.

She keeps the office running smoothly, supports our administrative processes and oversees much of our Making Tax Digital administration. Whether you’re calling with a question or popping in for a meeting, Emma will make sure you end up in the right hands.

Josie joined Change as an apprentice in 2019 and quickly proved that accounting was exactly where she belonged. After completing her AAT qualifications, she became an integral part of our accounts team and now also manages our Company Secretarial service.

Companies House rules are definitely her thing. Whether you’re appointing a director, transferring shares or filing a Confirmation Statement, Josie will make sure everything is done correctly. She’s also a Xero and FreeAgent expert, so software questions are always welcome.

You’ll often hear from Josie about year-end accounts, VAT returns, management accounts or company secretarial matters.

Zoe joined Change in 2026, bringing with her years of experience managing teams and supporting businesses across a wide range of industries.

With her ACCA qualification almost complete, Zoe combines strong technical knowledge with a friendly, approachable style. She enjoys building long-term relationships with clients and making accounting feel far less daunting than many people expect.

You’ll usually hear from Zoe during your annual accounts and tax compliance work, and no question is ever too small.

Barrie joined Change as part of our acquisition of Sunley & Co. A safe pair of hands and an ACA-qualified accountant, Barrie enjoys working with some of our larger and more complex businesses, but he’s equally happy helping sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Known for his attention to detail, he’s the person who enjoys untangling complicated accounting and tax problems. Just one piece of advice... don’t ask him about payroll. He’ll politely remind you that it’s someone else’s department.

Nikki is a Chartered Certified Accountant and is another important part of our Sunley team. She works across accounts, payroll, CIS, VAT and Making Tax Digital, giving her a broad understanding of how businesses operate.

With particular experience in farming and construction, Nikki enjoys helping clients stay on top of both their compliance and their day-to-day finances.

Whether you have a payroll question, a VAT query or you’re discussing your year-end accounts, Nikki is always happy to help.

Matt joined Change in 2017 after changing careers and quickly discovered that tax was where he belonged.

Since then, he’s progressed through AAT and ATT before qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) - the UK’s highest professional tax qualification.

Matt leads our tax department and Making Tax Digital service, helping business owners and landlords navigate everything from annual tax returns to complex tax planning, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. He enjoys finding practical solutions that save clients both time and tax.

Julia is part of our growing tax team and is working towards becoming a qualified tax accountant.

She’s brilliantly organised and has become our go-to person for P11Ds, while also preparing tax returns and supporting clients with Making Tax Digital and cloud accounting.

If Julia gets in touch, it’s usually to keep your tax affairs on track and make sure there are no surprises along the way.

Around the office, Lauren is affectionately known as our Xero Queen.

If there’s a feature, add-on or integration in Xero, FreeAgent or Dext, chances are Lauren has already mastered it. She leads our VAT and bookkeeping team, supports clients with software training and helps businesses improve the way they manage their finances.

Lauren loves simplifying processes and showing clients how technology can save them time.

Beth returned to the team in 2025 after previously working at Sunley before taking time out to raise her family.

She looks after bookkeeping and VAT for a wide range of clients and is another member of our software dream team, with plenty of experience using Dext, Xero and FreeAgent.

If we’re managing your bookkeeping or VAT, you’ll probably get to know Beth very well.

Payroll is Debbie’s world.

Since joining Change in 2022, she qualified as a payroll professional, and she’s been making sure employees are paid correctly and on time while keeping employers compliant with PAYE, pensions and all the ever-changing payroll rules.

From setting up new PAYE schemes to pension administration and payrolled benefits, Debbie is always happy to answer payroll questions - no matter how simple or complicated they may seem.
