Our Team

At the heart of Change is our team. It is what makes us stand out from the accountancy crowd and it ensures we get referrals from happy clients.

When Change was formed, we put a lot of thought into what our clients wanted from their accountant and we built the team around that.

We have an accountant joke book in our office (no, really, we do) but thankfully we have never had to utter a single joke out of it, because clients don’t want their accountant to be hilarious. We think they want them to be qualified, knowledgeable, a confidante and friendly and approachable. I know, I know, all accountants say that, so the best thing you can do is drop us a line and find out for yourself.

Stacey McVeighty FCCA

Stacey Mcveighty FCCA

Stacey qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003 and became Yorkshire’s youngest female partner in 2007 before forming Change Accountants in 2014.

She is a prominent networker, running the free, York networking event, First Thursday.

“I love networking. I think it is such an important method of sharing knowledge, contacts and most importantly, finding trusted advisors for my clients. Having happy clients who know they are being looked after is invaluable.”

Stacey has developed a paperless office and is actively trying to make the business more sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Outside of work, Stacey is passionate about music and has seen hundreds of live bands over the years (mainly the pre-child years). She also likes most sports, especially cycling but is happy to just be a spectator and a “Summer Sunday cyclist”.

Tracy Dykes

Tracy keeps Change moving. She looks after all our clients, whether they are brand new to business (and Change) or experienced, long-term clients.  Tracy is a fairy godmother when it comes to our administration and if you have any questions about our paperwork, invoices, payments or just need pointing in the right direction, Tracy will deal with your request efficiently and in our usual friendly manner.

Being an Administrator Extraordinaire, we needed to find other areas to keep her busy, so we utilised her previous experience and she also undertakes some of our bookkeeping for clients.

In her spare time, she spends time with her young family and also enjoys live music and comedy – although her recollection of the jokes is somewhat lacking…

Tynam McNeill (FCCA)

Tynam and Stacey have worked alongside each other since 2011, during this time Tynam has completed his ACCA (Association of Chartered Certifed Accountants) exams.

As a qualified accountant Tynam is very skilled when it comes to dealing with the accounts process for Change clients. He is Sage, Xero and Freeagent certified. He’s always on-hand to help clients with any questions they might have in respect of day to day bookkeeping and more complex issues such as international VAT.

Tynam is a football and F1 fan, he also recently pulled an “all-nighter” to watch the Superbowl (that’s dedication to sport).

Lauren Tree (FMAAT)

Lauren joined the Change team in July 2017 to manage all of our VAT and bookkeeping clients - both internally and externally.

She is a whizz with VAT and is Xero and Freeagent certified, as well as turning her hand to just about any other bookkeeping system and add-on.

When she isn't in the office, she is enjoying the newness of motherhood.

Matthew Walker (ATT, MAAT, AATQB)

Matthew joined us in July 2017 as a part qualified AAT accounting technician. He more recently has completed his tax technician exams and is now an ATT accountant, as well as AAT.

This was a career change for Matt after nearly 11 years working as a sub-editor. In his own words "I completed the AAT Level 2 qualification in my spare time through distance learning, and was compelled to apply to join Change as a trainee after reading about the team and their friendly and knowledgeable approach to accounting. Now I'm here, I'm eager to learn, I'm looking forward to getting to know our clients".

Away from work, apart from tax studies, any spare time is mostly spent with family and friends, particularly on long walks, weather permitting, out in the countryside with his wife, daughter and their cockapoo.

Josie Dale AAT

Josie joined the team in 2019 and flew through her AAT exams. Josie is a key member of our accounts team and heads up our Company Secretarial Service.

Josie is a keen traveller and we often refer to her as a modern day Judith Chalmers, but she is far too young to get the reference...

Debbie Davison

Debbie joined our team in 2022 and runs our payroll department. She processes payroll and CIS, deals with HMRC (lucky her) and assists with all manner of queries including holiday pay, maternity, paternity and other statutory payments, the ever-changing legislation around employers and employees National Insurance and tax codes. Basically this government are keeping her very busy!

Sophie joined Change in December 2023 and is part of our VAT and bookkeeping team. She is currently finishing off her final level of AAT.

Sophie has a young family to keep her entertained when she isn't preparing VAT returns or busy bookkeeping.
